HO! HO! HO!

This past weekend we went to Christmas at Old Ft. Concho. And guess what????

We got to eat breakfast with SANTA!!!

It was so much fun! Charles could hardly wait to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Corley on the other hand wasn't to sure what to think, but he didn't cry.
We enjoyed jumbo pancakes and sausage in the old stables and got to listen to the Marachi band play Christmas carols while we ate.

After breakfast and visiting with Santa we made the rounds. The boys loved all the soldiers, cannons, and horses. I think they might have learned a little too!

What a fabulous family weekend we had!!

We are still here...

and as busy as ever! Charles is taking gymnastics and participating in PIPS(players in progress). Corley....well he is just everywhere and into everything. Bill is in the middle of cotton harvest so we don't get to see him much. As for me I'm trying to get all of our Christmas done and prepare for the arrival of our precious baby girl. I will be induced on Monday, January 11, 2010!
So, yes I'm still here, but just trying to keep my head above water! I will post more when I get time! Remember what CHRISTmas is all about:)

Fall

I've been very reflective the last few weeks. Fall is my favorite time of the year and was also my mother's favorite. I've been reminded of her so much lately and I deeply miss her.

She has now been gone for almost 12 years and it still hurts so much. I miss her the most I think when I'm preparing to bring another one of God's children into this world. She never got to see me graduate from college, get married, or meet any of my children. She always told me what a great mom I would be and I just wish she was her to help me and encourage me.

My kids know that my mom died from a nasty thing called cancer, but I don't think they completely understand. They call her Kayro because that is what Bailey Joe and Gunter Pennington named her years ago. I can't wait for my kids to meet Kayro one day in God's heavenly kingdom.

I think I have had an especially hard time lately because this baby is a little girl. My mom would be SO excited! I miss her when I'm shopping for Minnie, working on her room, going to my doctors appointments, or just want to call her and talk about it. I've been blessed with wonderful family and friends, but nobody can replace your mom.

My mom was a beautiful woman inside and out. She loved her Lord like no other and she loved her family to the moon and back. Mom I miss you everyday and can't wait to dance with you in heaven!

Update

Well, I have finally figured out how to decorate Minnie Carol's room. It took a little while, but I think it will be precious. It was a little hard because I'm so used to the boys and we just always go with the western theme. I had to put more thought into this and it wasn't easy.
We found this sweet lady in Llano who has a really neat store. She sales fabrics and makes bedding. Her fabrics are beautiful and she is a sweetheart too! I'll post pics as soon as I get the bedding.

On another note we had a good Halloween week. We carved a pumpkin together as a family and had a BLAST! The boys thought it was so much fun.

We are busy around the Belew house and are looking forward to the holidays. Hope everyone has a blessed week!

It's Time

I have been thinking about Minnie Carol's nursery for a while, but with two active little boys have done nothing about it. I really don't know what I want and haven't had an opportunity to look.

Well, just when this was really starting to bother me I got a phone call. Annette(my angel mom) called and asked if I wanted to go to Boerne and San Antonio this weekend and shop for Minnie Carol. YES,YES,YES...if you know me very well this is right up my alley! So on Friday I'm going to meet my Mom and Shelley in San Antonio for a fun girls weekend. YIPPEE!!!

Now, let me explain about the angel mom. Almost 11 years ago my precious mother died from breast cancer when I was only 20 and my brother was 17. My mom was my everything!!! However, she had instilled a strong faith in me and my brother and my Dad is amazing. With the help of God we have continued to live our lives with joy because that is what she wanted. Before she died she made it very clear to all 3 of us that she wanted my Dad to be happy and if that meant him getting remarried then she wanted us to support him. Well, about 5 years ago that special someone came into my Dad's life. Annette was the angel that Mom had sent for him and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.

I'm so thankful that she called and asked me to go shopping with her for little Minnie Carol. Believe me one of the hardest things about loosing my Mom is not having her here for the birth of my children. Thanks Annette for loving me like your own!

I just want all of you out there who still have your mother's to take an extra moment and thank God for them. You never know when he is going to call them home.

I'm looking so forward to Friday and hopefully will have pictures of Minnie Carol's baby bedding next week.

Blessing!!!

Birthday Party

Well, I promised I would give you an update on the boys birthday party. So I'm finally getting around to it. They, or should I say Charles, wanted a football themed party. So this is what we went for and I thought it was perfect. We had about 20 kids come and lots of family and friends. We had a bounce house, cake and homemade ice cream (thanks Nana and Jackie), and lots of fun football games. It was a lot of work, but so worth all the SMILES from my precious little boys. Here are a few pics from the party.

Since we are talking about birthday's we are going to celebrate a NEW BIRTH in early January. Most of you already know this, but I haven't really talked about it on my blog. We are expecting a precious baby GIRL. Wow, that is still really hard for this mom of two boys to believe! We are all so excited to meet Miss Minnie Carol Belew. Her name is super special too! Minnie was my great-grandmother's name and Carol was my mother's name. We are looking forward to another blessing from God.

My BIG Boy

Well, it doesn't seem possible that my first born will be SIX years old tomorrow. I seems like just yesterday he was a little baby, but has grown into a wonderful little boy.

Right now Charles is really into riding his horse(which he has loved since he was a little thing) and anything COUNTRY. He is also really enjoying his gymnastics class on Monday nights.
This weekend we are having a football themed party for all the family and friends. So stay tuned for pictures from the boys birthday party.

Happy Birthday Charles Russell! You are truly a joy in my life!

Summer Fun

Well, this summer was fast, furious, and tons of FUN! We spent lots of time with family and friends at BBQ's, the swimming pool, and just hanging out. AND....we went to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!
It was the BEST family vacation ever! The boys just loved it and Bill and I had a blast too. We got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Mr. Incredible, and many more. The boys rode all the rides and saw all the sights.

We also got to spend a day at the Long Beach aquarium and harbor. It was so COOL! The boys got to see all kinds of fish, sharks, sea lions, seals, and much more. They also got to take a cruise around the harbor in a BIG boat.

Oh, and I can't forget that a certain little boy turned 2 on the trip to Disneyland!

Happy Birthday Corley Scott Belew!!!!

We can't wait to go back to Disneyland with the "whole" family in several years. Hope that your summer was as FANTASTIC as ours!!!

FINALLY!

Well, I finally got a blog going...maybe! My good friend and my cousin have been doing this for awhile. I have really enjoyed reading their blogs and thought I would start my own. I probably won't ever be as good as they are, but I'm going to give this blogging a try. So stay tuned to see what is happening with The Belew Family!
